The Board of Imams Victoria (BOIV) manages and delivers a program called the Community Integration Support Program (CISP), which is designed to address the various needs of Muslims who are in and out of custody. The program is voluntary, and participants are provided with Islamic education, social and welfare support, family outreach and mental health and wellbeing services.
The CISP is delivered by qualified professionals and has been extremely successful in reintegrating its participants back into society. The CISP has been a contributing factor to the progression of its participants, helping them reconnect with their families, secure employment, and education, as well as address their mental health needs and providing them with an understanding of the correct Islamic teachings through sound knowledge and insight by mainstream Islamic scholars.
Although CISP is supported through state funding, it is managed independently by the BOIV. Any claims suggesting that the CISP is a program used for ‘dobbing in’ or ‘monitoring’ members of the community are simply false and firmly rejected by the BOIV.
Allah SWT says:
“O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful”. 49:6
BOIV is an open and transparent organisation, which maintains a high standard of accountability and integrity towards its members and the community.
We ask Allah All Mighty to guide us to truth and success in this life and the next.
