BOIV Eid al Adha BOIV Message

The President of BOIV Sheikh Isse Abdo MUSSE and member Imams are please to send our warmest Eid al Adha greeting to each and every one of the Muslim community members in Victoria and elsewhere in Australia.

We are celebrating the festival of sacrifice this year in extra ordinary circumstances.

The number of people affected by COVID 19 is dangerously increasing, and death toll is getting higher. It’s time for all of us to come together to fight the virus that doesn’t distinguish based on people of colour, creed, ethnicity or social status.

COVID 19 is a pandemic, and it’s our religious and moral duty to fight it relentlessly to protect us, our families and everyone in the community from its devastating impact. This can be done only by respecting and adhering to the guidelines issued by DHHS on social distancing.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place.”

So, let us celebrate the festival of sacrifice (Eid al Adha) at home and try to reach out to extended family members, friends and people in the neighbourhood virtually through online platforms.

Eid Mubarak.
